Mechanic Certification

There’s more to a mechanic’s job than the wheels on the bus. From engine performance and warning lights to windshield wipers and onboard technology, each and every part of our vehicles contribute to our reliability, safety, and on-time performance. Therefore, the value we put in the knowledge and training of Student Transportation Inc.’s Maintenance Team is immeasurable. Because they are vital to the safety of our vehicles, mechanics receive regular in-service training to ensure they remain current with vehicle manufacturer standards. In addition, they are encouraged to increase their proficiency by participating in STI's Advancement Through Commitment program, which sponsors mechanics interested in earning their ASE Master School Bus Technician Certification. STI’s Maintenance Team is among the safest and most respected in the industry with more than half achieving this esteemed standing.
